Thankfully, there’s been a lot of attention on single women over the past few years…and, yes that includes this blog. I feel like the world knows us a bit better but clearly we have a ways to go.
Several thought provoking books on single women’s lives all written from different perspectives have blossomed up. There’s Otherhood: Modern Women Finding A New Kind of Happiness from author Melanie Notkin about her desire to marry and have family but not realizing that dream yet; Spinster by Kate Bolick who wrote about her unwavering desire to remain single; and All The Single Ladies: Unmarried Women and the Rise of an Independent Nation by Rebecca Traister who is married but takes a socioeconomic and political look into the lives of single women in America.
I’m so happy that we are having conversations about what it means to be a single woman at this time. I highly recommend each of the books for their unique perspectives. Similarly below are 3 dynamic and insightful blogs for and by single women that often inspire me.
