This month’s spotlight spinster – Regina Hall is a multi-talented actress known for displaying her comedic chops in movies like The Best Man; The Best Man Holiday; Think Like A Man; Think Like A Man Too; About Last Night (reboot) and the Scary Movie series. She is originally from Washington DC and received an undergraduate degree in English at Fordham University and a graduate degree in journalism from NYU. Ms. Hall got her start in TV at age 27 appearing on the soap opera Loving and in guest appearances on the late 90s hit Fox show New York Undercover.
We love Ms. Hall not just because of her comedic and acting abilities, and fabulous red carpet style but also her stance on living a happy single life. Though rumored to be dating actor, rapper, humanitarian Common, Hall, age 46 denies it. She actually embraces her single life and in a 2015 interview with THEYBF said that “especially as a black woman, you know, we can’t wait to be happy.” That’s exactly what TSU believes and encourages for all single ladies – “happily ever after begins now!”
We CAN NOT wait to see her in the upcoming girl buddy comedy Girls Trip movie with Jada Pinkett Smith, Tiffany Haddish and fellow “spinster” Queen Latifah on July 21, 2017. The movie centers around four college friends who travel New Orleans for the annual Essence Music Festival, where their bond is tested and strengthened while hilarious shenanigans ensue. She’s just been named the 2017 American Black Film Festival celebrity ambassador. In the meantime, check out some of our favorite red carpet looks from Regina over the years. And, we know she’ll be slaying again on the red carpet for the Girls Trip premiere.
