Yikes! The winter is over so it’s time to get fine for summer time and get serious about my fitness and healthy eating. Though, I am happy it’s technically “spring” in the northeast, I’m not so happy about the winter weight I’ve gained. It’s the usual 5-7 pounds above my fighting weight (though I never weigh myself – I use my clothes as the guide). It’s time for me to put down the Dough donuts and other comfort food to whittle myself back down to my summer fighting weight. It’s a vicious cycle, but I have to many clothes in a certain size that I would never be able to replace, so I’ll just have to keep running to the bathroom due to all the water I’m consuming to “make my stomach feel full”. Something a donut never fails to do. Sigh.
I’ve recommitted to the gym 4 – 6 times a week, eating cleaner and drinking fewer cocktails. Not gonna lie, it sucks and every day I think about the Dulce de Leche donut from Dough, but I imagine how it will feel once again to rock a sexy swimsuit when I’m lounging poolside on my girl’s trip at the end of May. I’ve got 38 days until the trip and 45 days to Memorial Day weekend to make it happen. Here a few links that I’ve culled together to keep me on track.
