Are you uncomfortable, or rather is your skin uncomfortable? Winter is so hard on the skin. The wind and the cold air can dry your face and the lack of sunshine can take some glow out of your complexion. And indoor heating doesn’t help. It can remove what little moisture your skin is able to hold onto. What is a girl to do? I’ve compiled a list of five beauty products that will give new life to your skin.
Recently, I transformed my whole skin care routine. What worked in warmer months is not enough for winter’s colder and drier days, I needed new beauty products. Your hair may need new products as well.
First up, Fresh’s Seaberry Skin Nutrition Cleansing Oil. Though cleansing your skin with oil may seem counterintuitive, this oil will cleanse and moisture. It gently removes dirt and makeup without drying out your skin. And the best part is you don’t need a lot because it lasts for while.
I then use Tata Harper’s Rejuvenating Cleanser. This all natural and organic exfoliating cleanser sloughs off my dead skin cells leaving my skin softer and ready to soak up some moisture. I noticed a difference in my skin texture and tone after one day! I was stopped by two different women asking me what kind of makeup I was wearing. They both said my skin was glowing. I was barefaced at the time. Now that’s results.
It’s moisture time kiddies! I make sure to use a cream under my eyes, and if you’re over 25 years old, you should too. I use Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream. It’s packed with vitamin C so it helps to brighten dark circles, which become more obvious if you’re sporting your winter skin tone. This cream also reduces puffiness.
My second round of moisture comes from the fabulously named company, Drunk Elephant. Their Lala Retro Whipped Cream is thick and rich and has made my skin feel so soft. It may be wintertime, but my skin is living for the warmth of moisture.
My last beauty product I use year-around: Peter Thomas Roth’s CC Cream. I don’t like the heaviness of liquid foundations, which can seep into fine lines and highlight dry skin patches, and powder foundations can be drying. I like my beauty products to do double-duty as skincare. This CC Cream is a moisturizer, an anti-aging treatment, a complexion corrector and it has sunscreen. The one downside is that it only comes in two shades. Come on Peter Thomas Roth!
So, who’s ready for their close-up?
