Much like everyone else, I have resolved to get back into shape and find fun and new ways to do it this year. I was bored to tears with my routine last year and decided to look back in my life in high school when I had the most fun for inspiration. I discovered 3 new amazing exercise trends that I can’t wait to try this year.
Pound – Ever since I saw Sheila E go to town on a set of drums in The Glamorous Life video in 9th grade, I always wanted to know how to play the drums. Now with Pound, I can “drum” myself into shape with “drumstick” weights called Ripstix, while I do Pilates, isometric and plyometrics for an overall body work out that can burn up to 900 calories in a 45 minutes session. Watch out Shelia E!
305 Fitness – Though not an entirely new trend, I’ve never take a 305 Fitness class but everyone I know that has LOVES it. 305 Fitness infused high energy dance moves with popular bass-filled music from Miami and even offers yoga and sculpt. I went to high school in south Florida, and love the music and energy of Miami. I’m envisioning that it’ll be just like the dance routines I did as cheerleader in high school. I’m predicting I’ll back in my cheerleading uniform in no time!
Bokwa Fitness – Though I was a cheerleader in high school and loved to perform dance routines, I wasn’t particularly a great dancer but I was a pretty good student which will come in handy for Bokwa Fitness. Bokwa is a group exercise that started in LA and incorporates drawing out numbers and letters with your body during a high intensity cardio routine. With these 3 classes I should be back in the shape I was in at 18 in no time.
